Drivers in southwest Calgary should expect overnight disruptions along 50 Avenue S.W. beginning Monday night as another stage of the road improvement project gets underway.
Crews are scheduled to work between 22 Street S.W. and Crowchild Trail S.W. from Sept. 28 through Oct. 1, with construction taking place nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.Work specific to this stretch includes road resurfacing, curb and gutter repairs, rehabilitation of concrete islands and streetlight upgrades.
The City says temporary traffic, pedestrian and transit detours will be used as needed. Short nighttime closures may also affect access between 50 Avenue and Crowchild Trail.The construction is part of a larger improvement project along 50 Avenue S.W. between Crowchild Trail and 14A Street S.W.
Other sections of 50 Avenue remain affected by ongoing construction, so drivers travelling through the area should watch for posted detours and changing traffic patterns.
