YYC24 is a Calgary digital news site. This page explains what information we receive when you browse the site or contact us.

Information you send us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, topic and message. We use that information to review your tip, correction, question or privacy request and to respond where appropriate. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information through the form. Submitting a tip does not guarantee coverage or confidentiality; contact us before sending sensitive source material.

Browsing and outside services

The site and its hosting providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser details and request logs. A news search uses the words you enter to find published stories. The weather page uses forecast data fetched by our server from MET Norway. If you play embedded video or use a social share link, the video or social platform may receive information under its own privacy policy. Story images may also be delivered by our content provider.

Storage and access

Contact messages are stored for editorial follow-up and accessible to authorized YYC24 editors through the site’s editorial tools. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or applicable obligations. We use service providers to operate the site and newsroom; processing may occur outside Alberta or Canada. We do not sell contact-form submissions.

Your choices

You can read stories without submitting the contact form. Your browser may let you limit cookies or other site data, though some functions may be affected. To ask about information you sent, request access or correction, or raise a privacy concern, use the contact page and select “General question.”
